Ed was elected At-Large Board Member of the Republican Liberty Caucus
at the organization's National Convention in February of 2011. He was
elected Vice Chairman in a special election in September of 2011 to fill the
seat previously held by Aaron Biterman.

Ed's experiences in political, military, and academic work around the world
have given him a greater appreciation for the importance of preserving the
freedoms and civil liberties we are afforded at home. It has also nurtured a
deep appreciation for the precious economic liberties we are afforded as
Americans and our need to help restore fiscal responsibility as a matter of
national priority.

Ed believes the importance of the Republican Liberty Caucus will be
paramount in the 2012 general election. He believes the Republican
Liberty Caucus' national leadership can seize a unique opportunity to bring
the broader Republican Party's message into greater focus as we approach the
next presidential election.
